When buying tires do u ever go and pick them up and then take them to have them mounted and balanced?

I guess if i lived in texas or california then the local shops would carry interco.

But the closest place that sells Interco tires is Tyres1.com in Akron, OH. 40 min drive for me, so if I want interco tires i have to go there and pick them up and then come home and get them mounted and balanced locally.

Has anyone ever done that? i guess I feel that local shops provide reassurance and the ability to take them back if needed?

i orderd my tires from cali and mounted them in montana at the local tire shop they couldnt balance them ''too big ''they said . they work fine.

Yeah check with your local shops, alot won't risk their machines to balance over sized tires. Any offroad shop will though. Another option is to use balancing beads like they use on tractor trailors.

I am using dense airsoft pellets in my 40's now. They work great.

i dont mean to hyjack but if i have the oppourtuinity to have my tires balanced, would that be wiser to do then throw some golfballs or airsoft pellets in them?

i called a local service shop they want $3 to dismount $3 to mount and $5 to balance so about $44 seems good to me

i bought tires from a local shop, and drove 3 miles down the street to another shop and had them mounted and balanced, the first shop wanted 25 a tire, while the second only wanted 10 a tire.

mounting / dismounting shouldn't cost much of anything... I never pay for it. The trick is to talk to the sales guy about how you have lots of huge tires and wheel all the time. This sets off the "this guy spends thousands per year on tires... we want him as a customer!" response and out come the freebies.

totally dig 'em, at least for what I used them for. They are my "street tires". Only wheeled with them once, back in the day... they did alright in anything by super deep mud...

Do they mount/balance at tyres international? They sell tire and wheel packages that are mounted.

I go to a local tractor trailor shop, go during their less busy times. They are used to working with large tires and don't even think ours are 'work' and will cut you a good deal. The beads work a charm! And they will never get knocked off on the trail.

i guess im lucky that my buddy has a tire machine in his garage, when ever i need anything mounted or repaired, i go and do it my self.
