with the price of tires the way they are, @ $1200-1600 or more a set, has any1 bought their tires 1 at a time....its just so hard to save $1500... something always comes along needin money , now ,when i save up $300-400, would it be ok to buy 1 tire before sum'n else passes by ''that i have to have''...its usually handguns:D....what if i bought 1 tire everytime i have the money, until i have all 4?

is it possible/probable, that different ''runs'' of tires will be different from 1 another, as to where they don't match well....

1 incident comes to mind...i ordered a set of 38/12.50/15 tsl's...when i got them mounted(recommended rim size)...they measured 35 3/4'' tall...wtf! over 2 inches short! i was pissed, i called interco, they recommended a narrower rim......well, i explained i had just bought wheels same time as tires, as per your suggestion over phone prior to ordering stuff and got 15x8 wheels like they said.....so we try a stock steel rim(6'' wide), just to see......still only like 36 3/8'' tall....

i call em back, tell them whats up..they are apoligetic, and take my name and complaint...tell me they would be back in touch...@ 2 weeks later they call me...other people has had the same gripe on same size tires....they tell me they had a bad ''run'' of tires that got out the door, on accident....so, they sent me 3/4ths my money back on tires,(including S&H)...also told me when i'm ready for another set...they would give me a discount and let me order straight from them...and my name and such will be noted in their computer....the next set i bought 39.5 at 1/2 price...(all was good)

BUT:
is this a common occurance and is it sum'n to be concerned w/ when ordering a set 1 tire at a time to make a set? any1, any like incident? is it bad idea?

wow...i had never heard of that. didn't relize they could be that far off. that's crazy. i've probably ordered like 30plus sets of tires and it has yet to happen. how long ago was that???? i would say you would be "ok" ordering one at a time....or you could just stash the money in a jar somewhere, then order all at once. that would be your best bet IMO.

Never heard of that myself. Hmm

Myself i'm going to the Interco site and gonna buy 1 tire at a time when i do but they're gonna be the blem tires. I don't need the look if they perform the same :D

that happened in 94 or 95! they told me that those tires should have been blems...i think after they gave me most of my money back, i had @ $150 in those tires, 6 months later i got a set of 39.5 tsl's 1/2 price...they had good customer service and wanted to/did make it good!

only thing about buying blems 1 at a time...you never know if/when the size you buy will have more blems, if they sell out before you get a set 1 at a time.

True. I know where a set of tires is for $600 but they are only 35's.That's probably the route i'm going with my income tax after i buy a truck.

thing is i know where the jar is!

i still know its there...recently i had almost $1200 saved and my local gun store put the dpms's on sale....a rifle i had been drooling over @$1899, got marked down to $995, so i had to buy the dpms panther @ 1/2 price!:doah: btw...heres the gun::D

damn, awesome gun at awsome price....i can't blame you on that one brother. haha. good luck with the tires though man.

38" or 38.5" swampers have always measured small (maybe 36").

If you seriously can't handle saving up enough money to buy 4 tires without blowing the money on something else you have bigger problems.

its not that i can't save the money, its that i find smokin deal on sum'n else and can't pass it up, like that gun for example...i've been carressing that thing since last spring, but it was $1900....they marked it down to 1250, and my buddy is tight w/owner and got him to sell it for 995, my friend called me and told me the deal and i thought....tires will always be there, i may never get that rifle at that price again...couldn't get to gun shop fast enuff....and the gun will hold its value,...tires are consumable, so i just had too:doah:;)
