Who has moved their secondary fuel filter after swapping intakes, and can no longer bolt the secondary fuel filter to the intake manifold? Homebrew ideas, or aftermarket kits. Also trying to decide if I want to get more steel line and bend it, or get some kind of metal braided hose with fittings.

Only on 82 and 83 model years. J code intakes from those years would have the mounting location for it too.

The J code I have doesn't have the mounting holes my C code does. It does however, have a different set of holes elsewhere, but no idea what they're for.

I ran a Racor set-up on the firewall, pretty simple.

After posting that and searching some more, I found someone here selling Stanadyne kits. Believe it's pretty close to the racors. Just waiting for a reply.

I swapped out my '83 C-code intake for a 6.5 intake, and ran into a similar problem. After fabbing up a little bracket to attach the secondary filter, I ran into clearance issues with the vacuum pump. Rather than re-fab the bracket, I decided to ditch the second filter it as it was in a terrible spot anyways (for filter changing purposes). It's kind of a shame, as the vacuum pump isn't used for anything on my engine anyway. Except the oil pump. Whoever decided to use the vacuum pump gear to drive the oil pump? :doah:

I have a '87 6.2 with a J-code intake, that was in a C-30 ramp truck, and it had a SM465,no need for a vacuum pump,so GM "deleted" it somehow--it has only a freeze plug looking cup where the pump would be normally..I assume they had a idler shaft with a gear that drives the oil pump hidden under that cap I guess..:dunno:

My '82 truck with a 6.2 has the big spin on filter base on the firewall for the fuel, with a Wix 333123 filter...someone evidently removed the secondary filter under the intake,if it ever had any (C-code intake),but I dont see why you couldn't plumb up a small secondary filter to the "out" port on the primary filter's base,I dont think it'll matter if its not right before the injector pump, the fuel will be filtered twice regardless...mine has not seemed to give any grief running the primary one only...(I figured it's been that way long before I got the truck,so any ill effects would be apparent by now,and I've had it 11 years ).
