The parking brake is not working on my son's '73 C10 4x4 or my 73 Blazer.
The only thing that looks wrong is one of the cable guides is just hanging down.
Its the first one on the Pass side... there is a kink in the cable where it obviously lived, but I cannot see a hole or place to mount it.

Can someone tell me if it mounts to the frame rail, or to something on the Transfer case? I cannot see anywhere it should go!

Ok, here are a couple of pics..
Here is a picture of my 73 Blazer that has the same issue... a missing cable guide.
You can see the kink in the cable where the guide was..

And here is a picture of the same area on a friends 75 Blazer... clearly shows a bracket bolted to the frame rail that locates the guide rod.

The set-up of the transfer case on the '75 looks different... so I am unsure if I am looking at the same issue or solution.
Ideas or comments please?

I can't help with trucks that old, but my '81 frame uses the same general setup. Instead of using brackets on the frame, GM got clever and simply drilled holes in the frames, and put an "S" bend in the end of the brackets, so they sit into the frame and couldn't work back out under normal conditions. No idea if there were two variants early on.

On the Pickup I have the attachment guide... it has, as you say an S bend in the attchment end.
My issue is that I cannot see a hole in the frame within reach of the area it is supposed to mount!
Anyone?

just make a guide rod and attach it to the bracket or go to the frame. We're not talking about rocket science here.
