C6 automatic to 350 V8?

Personally...I don't see any issues with a well built th350.

I had my buddy build mine in 97' and it's still going strong of course it's far from stock. He installed race clutches with modified pistons so he could pack some more in. I'm also using a b&m converter.

I've run 44's with 4.10's pushing 350 hp...while pulling jeeps uphills 1 quart low on fluids. Pulled on rigs twice my size...mainly fords. It's still able to snap a neck or 2 when hitting second.

Since I'm secretly a ford lover...and have owned a couple. I would never recommend a ford trans. I've have had a c-6 or 2...they weren't impressive at all. One of them 3rd gear wouldn't kick in from time to time. The strength of the ford drivetrain is there motors. My dad drove one of my fords after throwing the fan belts..ran the engine temps over 300* and it didn't hurt a 351c.

The main issue with the th350 is front driveshaft angles when running lifts more than 4"s. (Due to being the shortest combo with a 205)
Sure the 1st gear is on the high side..I don't mind it with 5.13's.

The th400 is beefy...but will suck hp/torque from your rig...insted of putting it to your tires. Unless you build the crap outta it.

This winter I'm having anouther th350 built with a reverse valve body...
so I can bang between 1st and reverse faster with my new art-carr shifter.
I still pondering on a homemade doubler...not sure if I want the extra weight.

Ford engines ARE the best......boat anchors!Seriously though..Land Rovers are the best!LOL On a serious note..is there enough room in a K5 for a divorced transfer case?

In my K5, I decided to stick it out and stay together for the kids.

My vote is SM465. Autos suck, pretty much. :D
