I have a rusted out 1989 blazer and found an awsome deal on a 1980 body and frame. The FAQs here have some great info, but not detailed enough for my question.

Now i know there differences in the front clip, engine trans blah blah, but what about the:
cab?
Frame?
Hood?
Tail gate
top?
Glass?
Doors?

Thanks guys

The hood I think changed in 1981. That hood on the 1980 model would have the look of say a 73 74 75 76 ect. but everything else should bolt up

cab? They are similar, not sure on the 1980 but I know for sure that the 70s frames are a little different ( like near the passenger footwell)
Frame? ^^same thing
Hood? Different, The cut-offs are 73-80, 81-91
Tail gate The same
top? The same
Glass? The same
Doors? The same

Frame changed in 78. You should be good there too.

I will basically be taking my rusty 89 andthe rust free 80 and making one good blazer out of it.
I plan on using my doors, interior, glass, engine, t case axles and my 89 front clip (hood fenders and grill) and making one good blazer out of it

Thanks guys

Good luck, looks like the only thing you'll have to modify is you hood and cowl for the new design hood.

One other thing I hadn't thought of is the seats. I do believe the seat bolt pattern is different on the 80. Should be able to adapt them pretty easily though.
