Could anyone tell me how much a regular cab (cab only) weighs with everything still in it.

I have one rust free I'm interested in that's about 6 hours away, it's complete minus the doors.

Anyone ever haul one in the back of a short bed full size truck?

I know the stripped cab from a 73 K10 I scrapped weighed 450 lbs without doors on it,so I'd guess maybe 700 lbs fully dressed?..about the same as a small block V8 with a automatic tranny on it..
It fit in the 8 foot Fleetside bed I hauled it in with ok,with some room to spare, but I cant say if it would fit in a 6 foot bed--I think not,the width of the widest part of the cab is about 79 inches, thats how wide I made a flatbed for a 77 GMC I had and I did not want it jutting out wider than the cab was..
6 feet = 72".so you wont be able to close the tailgate..I cant recall if the cab fit between the wheel wells,or if I had to put planks across them for it to sit upon..I think it fit in between them..

recently moved and or installed 2 bare cabs . and I mean bare nothing at all .

2 good guys have a decent / tuff time just picking up and holding .

as to fit in the box sideways and not sure on how easy for clearing wheel whells.

I have hauled many cabs turned sideways in long beds. It will fit between the wheel wells.

My box is 6'5, so I know I won't be able to close the tailgate. I hauled a Boss V plow in the back of the truck last fall, that was 800lbs. At the time I had the plow in the bed, I still had the tool box on it and so that put the plow further back (Tailgate down). It was a little windy out and with the weight out back naturally the truck was a handful on the road.

So I'm guessing without the doors I'm probably around 600, with the tool box out, there shouldn't be too much trouble, with no doors the wind can go right threw the cab so it shouldn't be to bad.
