Guy e-mailed me back, told me to come take a look and we can negotiate. Truck is 4-5 hours from school though. Runs and drives, complete '87 4 runner. Wants 8, offered 7. Only rust on it will be fixed when I trim fenders.

No kits for 500's in toyotas. Probably doable, but not fun.

If I can get this 4 runner, I'm rolling with a 22RE until I'm in the position to upgrade.

Yeah...um...Kert might have a full Saturday sometime soon. :doah:

I figure we can get it at least sitting on one-tons pretty darn easily in a day if I get the right parts beforehand.

Guess I'll go pick up that core support that you've left sitting out back for months...

Not like I'd be out anything:laugh:

ya'll quit bitchin!

I'd stick with the 22re if your idea is to get wheelin. Why not do that and continue the buggy on the side. Tarp it up and stash it somewhere. Like a warehouse! (Then I can steal it.):haha:

4.3 is still there.

Toyota probably wouldn't handle well with the weight of a big block like that in the front end. Kinda the same scenario as some describe with a sbc in a samurai. Front HEBBY!

At any rate, good luck Mikey. Nothing wrong with spotting and bein the winch biatch for a few years while your doing a build. Sometimes the P seat gives you another perspective on wheelin too.

I Voted Nekkid/Bacon

Id say just go with the 22R, get ya wheeling quick....if ya need more power...its technically a Ricer so those some NOS at it, lol

I don't know how serious you're being, but if you're offering an indefinite spot in your side lot, I'll take you up on it. The drivetrain has to go inside though, don't want it rusting solid. Also, if you want any part of that combo, just say the word.

Been the spotting wench for 11 months now, and while I like it, it's still not the same as going out and beating on my own junk. Probably don't have that long left in MN with access to a decent garage, so I might as well make use of it.

Well, I wouldn't say indefinite but I'd rather see that than you scrappin' it. Wait till some of this snow is gon so we can do some rearranging and cleaning up and we'll figure out a spot for it.

Sorry, indefinite wasn't the right word. If I realize that I really am never gonna finish it or you want it gone I'll come down and cut the tube out of it that I want and take the rest to scrap. Thanks Kert!

If you buy a Toyota you will have more time and money in the exo cage than you would have finishing your buggy. Because all Toyotas are required to have 10000000 feet of tube in their exo's

I was about to make fun of that Toy but then I realized that it's hosted on your club's website so I'd better keep my mouth shut. :doah:

Lemme put it this way, I'd rather do a cab swap every year or two than build a jungle gym around sheet metal. It's gonna be a trailered rig and trust me, it's gonna get driven like it. :D

EDIT: Kurt Renaud is a club member? I bought a 'Yota frame and axles from him a couple years back. Small world I guess.

That doesn't belong to anyone in our club and trust me, the yota owners get their share of razzing but it's all in fun.

I stay stick with the 22r but be sure to upgrade the clicker/clacker

a friend took his 22RE out of his 85 truck and put a supra inline 6 in. Took some shoe horning but ended up being a worthwhile investment. Might be an upgrade option in the future.
