Has any one been to their local parts store lately, and ordered Eldorado brake calipers??? I went to O'Rileys, they only have the left one, and can't get right's. Arnold Motor Supply (CarQuest) Doesn't list either side, but found me a right side, at another store. Have we, or are we making these extinct???? I didn't try Advance or Big A.

I got mine from the local store. They did have to order both sides.
I'm sure they still make them, they just don't make them in large quantity like other styles. That's why they get the big$$$$ for them. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just grabbed a pair from a '77 Eldorado in a junkyard week before last. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Which junk yard & did they have any others? I want to convert my spare 14B beofre I put it under my rig. Thanks.

Got 'em at A1, but I just happened to be lucky enough to get there before someone else grabbed 'em! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif If there had been more than one set, I would have grabbed more. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Thanks Harry. BTW, what they run there? I'm planning on a trip there after next payday.

PS - We still need to hook up to swap that exhaust stuff /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

why eldorado calipers? they are so expensive....

i am gonna ask our inspection guys today if we can use a electronic style emergency brake.... i saw one and it was pretty cheap too.... flick a switch and the ebrake is set.....

They get $5 for ANY caliper there. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Just let me know when ya want to get together for the exhaust swap. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The only legal emergency brake you can use has to NOT utilize the vehicles hydraulic system. The idea is to have some way to slow/stop the vehicle in the event of a hydraulic failure, thus it needs to be a mechancial system.
