cage through the dash

Anyone ever put the front part of the cage through the dash and then put the dash back on. This is what I am going to do, so any body who has done it before I am sure can help me.

MISF did that with his '74 Scout. Much better way to do it I think. Takes a couple bends out of those tubes which can't help but make them stronger. You won't miss banging your toes on the tube either.
