Cage welding question

JB Weld is fine as long as you use the high strength version. I like to use the quick drying one though, that way I can finish faster.

Why didn't I think of that. I was worried that it would not dry fast enough and would have to use duct tape to hold everything together while it dried.

Now you got it figured out. Now get out & get some! :waytogo:

If you want I can shoot a few pics of my cage. I did it with a high strength epoxy then the JB weld over that.

It seems like the two must have had a chemical reaction because it is stiff and even when I rolled it over in the drive way to test the strength of the cage only like one joint cracked.

I think that joint that cracked must have had some oil residue left on it and that messed up the reaction.

It is super light weight.

This Geo metro based buggy sounds cool. Whaat axles are you going to run. Some kind of subaru outback type stuff?

i was just skimming over this, but i really hope it's a joke thread. no offense if it's not, but i wouldn't trust jb weld on something structural that was exposed to constant vibration and flexing. it doesn't even hold up on my radiator support after one good offroad romp.

Oh this is no joke. We will be building it. Now all I have to do is go pick up my 200' of conduit and start building. I am looking for a driver for this high end fully sponsored rock racing machine.
