I am looking into Full Cages for my Fullsize Blazer.
I got a quote(over the phone)from a local shop for $1200 to install the cage.

Does this seem high???? This doesn't include bars to go across the floor to mount the seats..

Any comments are welcome!

WOW dude keep callin around!
I had a local pipe bending shop do mine for 350 that included the pipe. Mine is a 6pt cage w/ no lower cross bars.
I would get other quotes, also ask them for a quote if it was just the labor and you provided the tubing?? Just to see what they would say......
Good luck

I am looking at other options.. I think I may be able to get the pipe really cheap.. If I can I will call that place back and recheck the price.

I Just got a quote yesturday, just for that. 8 pt. cage w/ six tied into the frame. 4 spreaders between the two rear hoops, 2 spreaders on the front hallow & gussett's. 110 ft. of tubbing .134 wall. For $ 1445. I thought it was pretty steep. Still checking arround.

Smittybuilt does make them, kits that is. I however don't have the part number, but the site does. If they don't have a picture I can scan one from my catalog to send you if that helps you any? I have been pricing to get one for my Blazer and haven't been quoted over $600 for the pipe, the bending and welding in. To me the quotes you got seem very high. I got quoted that high at a specialty 4x4 place here in town. I found out I was paying for the name sticker on the bars to go through them. The pipes I have been quoted on are 2" and .120 walls which is the same as Smittybuilt ones and the same as the 4x4 place I went too....

I had a custom cage made that goes through the dash and ties into the frame using the stock body mounts. The cage is made from 1 3/4" moly and was tig welded. I also have stainless grab handles to help getting in and for when things go bad welded to the front bars. The total cost was $800.00. I did however have the truck stripped to nothing including no windshield and no doors. I believe there is over 70 feet of tubing in the cage.
