caliper info needed for disc brake swap.

i see two front brake caliper sizes listed in the catalogs for the 3/4 tons. the sizes listed are 2 15/16" and 3 5/32". i only see one rotor listed. quick call to carquest confirms it. the larger caliper uses the same rotor/bracket, just a bigger piston.

i would assume that the larger caliper could possibly use up too much brake fluid resulting in a squishy pedal. the smaller calipers prob would offer a firmer pedal. no real difference in price. or did the carquest guy steer me in the right direction. any ideas or opinions on this?

I didn't know there was two different ones. I just got the rotors, callipers, and pads to fit a 77 3/4 4wd. At advance its was like $20 each rotor, $15 each calliper, and a set of $18 pads.

used 1/2 ton front calipers on my truck 6500lbs and 1 tons with 38" tires. no stoping problems.
