I'm looking to pick up this transmission

I'm looking to do towing, possibly daily driving and romping on the go fast pedal. What I'm wondering is how well this tranny is going to hold up and are those two extra components worth it? I don't know anything about torque converters but I don't want to wined up the engine to come off the line so I'm thinking a low stall

If you are planing to stall a 4L60/65/70E, go with a Yank. I have a Yank SS series truck convertor in my 07 Classic. I love it and have alot of miles on it. I went with the 3200 for my future mods, but they also offer it in a 2800. They also off the truck thruster sesies, which is non-billet btw, in 2600 stall, with no loss in towing capacity.

I don't know much about torque converters at all but I have heard a stall converter in a 4x4 will cause you to have to use the skinny pedal more. If this is true won't I have to push the pedal harder off the line while towing?

I'm thinking my best bet would be close to stock stall which I'm not sure what is.
 
Stay lower stall if you plan on towing, as low as you can get away with for the cam specs you have chosen. The converter you listed is for the old 298MM applications, the LS style 4L60E uses a 300MM converter. Use the TG-2 kit and eliminate the PWM feature of the TCC system with the TransGo components to be sure your ecm will be compatible with the clutch lining of the aftermarket converter. Be sure and run a large stacked plate design cooler in series with the radiator cooler for best cooling and lube results.

I think given your mod list you should be in good shape parts wise. Of course, putting it all together properly and making modifications to support the intended usage is as important as anything. Use the largest cooler you can fit run in series with the radiator, be sure your differential gears are a good match for your tire size, nothing will smoke a 4L60E quicker than a heavy truck with too big of a tire and not enough gear. Do these things and be smart about how you use the throttle and this trans should last you quite a while.
 
Gears are 3.73 and ill probably run a 33. Im 24 so chances are im going to smash on it
 
3.73 with a 33" tire is a bit too high IMO. Overdrive is going to put your RPM's in the mid to upper teens. Might want to consider 4.10's for that tire size with overdrive. Greg should be able to direct you more accurately, but I know when I calculated for 70 MPH with 33's and 4.10's with overdrive it was around 2000-2200 RPM's, which keeps you well within the power of the engine.

I agree with this, your rpm at 70 will be just under 1900rpm in overdrive, it would be a better driver and easier on the trans etc if it were in the 2100-2200 rpm range or even higher.
 
I figured the engine would make up for the 3.73 ratio. Deep down I side I knew 4.10 would be better but I already have complete axles.
