Calling any Line-X guys

So I've been reading up on doing a bedliner all the way from the firewall to the tailgate on my 88 K5 and I've gotten samples or seen everything from LavaLiner to Herculiner, Durabak, etc. and I'm not crazy about any of them. I'm thinking about just taking it to a Line-X dealer and having it done professionally. Lifetime warranty and I've heard it's thicker and much more reliable (not to mention smoother) than any of the DIY stuff on the market. The question is, do any of you work for a Line-X dealer or have had this done that could give me a price estimate. I've heard anywhere from 400 to 800 bucks but I'd like to get a little bit better idea before I make the 80 mile drive to the closest shop around here.

youll get the beast deal if you strip it clean yourself. should only cost about 300 to spray but if they have to pull everything out and put it in then it cost more.

Also, the prep work, even if everything is removed is a factor. If you already have everything removed, and you properly clean and prep the surfaces, and have everything masked off and ready to go, that'll reduce the cost as well.

From what I hear, it takes a couple of hours for those places to properly prep just a bed for lining. Only takes minutes to actually spray it in. It's the cleaning, surface prep, masking, etc, that takes so long.

i've been wondering this same thing as well. a local guy is charging me 450 for a speed liner to spray the bed of my short bed...i think doing the prep work myself will greatly reduce that price

Yeah I have been prepping it over the last few weekends (very meticulous) so it will be stripped, POR15'd and scuffed before it gets to them. I might mask some of the little stuff but they would probably do a better job on the big stuff like masking the dash off and such. There are a lot of factory screw and bolt holes I want to keep, so i'm not sure what the best way to take care of that is. I was thinking about just buying long sacrificial bolts and 3" decking screws to fill everything and then just back them out of the cured bedliner. I suppose they can all be drilled out from underneath as well...I'm just thinking about goofy things like those stupid little brackets that go thru the floor in the front footwells that will probably just get covered up.

I just wadded up some tape and shoved it into the bolt holes when I Herced mine. I had to bust out the knife and cut around it to get the tape out.

Put the stock bolts and screws back in and tape over the heads. They'll come right back out. It takes about 10 minutes max fro the Line-X to dry once it's sprayed. I had it done to my 95 K1500 SB. Liked it better than Rhino or any of the other spray in liners. My CJ I did with Herculiner through-out the whole tub. I love it and I'm going to Herc. my Blazer myself also. Piece of puss!!
