Calling out to thoose who use MSD/Mallory spark boxes

I hooked up the theft deterrent feature on my Mallory spark box, grounding a wire wich avoids the box to emit the signal..

But i am having trouble getting the engine started even if i un hook the ground wire.

Anyone ever ran into this??

Do you still have spark? I use that feature often with a switch and I've never had a problem with it on my MSD boxes. Find out if you still have spark and take it from there.

I'd recommend pulling the white wire off the switch and see if that helps; maybe you've got a bad switch. Unless that white wire is grounded, your box should make spark.

I use a toggle that I installed in the ashtray for theft deterrent in my truck on my MSD 6A; works flawlessly.

I will check the switch, i keep triying on the starter and when i let go it seems its hick ups like it wants to turn on.

Sounds to me like you hooked up the power to the ignition box to a power line that does NOT have power with the key is in START mode, and only has power in ON mode. Check with a light or multimeter to make sure you have 12V to the box during cranking.
