calling the smartest cookies out there

sorry it took so long to get back i couldnt get on, ok so lots of very good possibilitys and some very creative ones, but ok there is a rodent involved but not one shorted wire caused by chewed wire. a wire is being shorted but not because its damaged. also another hint, the lights are affected also and so are some interior lights that will flicker on and off but no damaged wires there and when i fixed the problem with the starter it fixed the other problems......oh and to narrow it down to to a location, its in the dash. lol im having fun with this

mistery revealed

Tail or Terd?

neither but ok are yall ready.....................................on the back of the fuse box a mouse had laid a piece of aluminum gum wrapper perfectly along the wires right where they attached to the fuse block. never at anytime was there direct power to any system for to long to cause any damage thats why there was no fuses blown but when slaming the door, or rocking the truck or just whatever it wanted, the wrapper would hit the power wire and as a perfect conductor it would supply power to the starter. i removed the wrapper and all the lights started working again and no more problem with the starter. but what was amazing was how it was perfectly placed.

Now that had to be hard to find or figure out. How did you ever figure it out?

well i unhooked the starter and hooked my test light up so i would stop grinding the starter and started tugging on wires and pounding on stuff watching the test light. well i couldnt get it to narrow down the general area so i hooked the starter up and was about to go to lunch and got pissed and slammed the door and it started cranking. so i hooked the test light back up and slammed the door again and the light would flicker. so then i started pounding on the dash right were the fuse cover was and it flickered on and off so i removed the fuse box and wala there it was a piece of freakn gum wrapper. oh and i was on commissions so ya i got paid nothing basically
