when i built the motor in my 77 K5 i installed the following cam

Melling #MTC1 Stage 2 Torque cam 204/214 dur @ 50 .420 .443 lift

should this cam have a noticeable lope at idle?

right now it idles like a stock cam but with the duration and lift it has i guess it isnt much bigger than stock?

Not too much bigger , and its biased to the exhaust side a bit more which is good . Kinda sounds pretty good for motor with pump gas friendly compression .

I googled the exact thing and its a fairly common upgrade cam on almost all the rebuilders kits .

specs are almost identical to a edelbrock performer cam, i had one in a previous truck w/ a 350. idle was comparable to stock, overall it was a decent choice for a fullsize rig with basic bolt on's; carb, intake and headers with duals.

if I remember right, thats the same as the edelbrock performer cam they have at all the parts stores. I had one in my nova, it was a definite improvement in every way, over the stock truck cam that was in it. however not sure how it works in a truck. a 3000 pound car is alot different than a 5000 pound truck.
