I have something posted on pirate also, but basicaly, someone told me (and I've seen in print) that cars (mostly TBI 305s) got roller cams years before the trucks, but that the blocks on '87-'95 TBI would have been cast the same, just never setup with the same hardware...
I'm pretty sure at least one of my 2 bolt main 350s ('89 suburban) has four holes drilled in the casting, above the cam... is that how and where the alignment tray mount on a 305? Is the roller cam in a 305 going to be the same as an LT1 (different grind of course)?, or a totaly different animal? I understand that roller cams need some additional hardware to keep them properly located, but doesn't seem like a big deal. I will need to build a replacement for the motor in my '88 K5 that just floated a valve/s, and OEM style equipment is MUCH cheaper than retrofit roller cam stuff (mainly the lifters), so it would be awesome if my poor old TBI motors could except some bitchin new stuff...
I don't have any experience with LT1s or other stock roller setups, so anybody with info, please chime in.
