OK the original puke green on my 73 K20 has seen better days, plus theres a couple primer spots. I'm thinking of doing the good ol' home sprayed camo paint job. Any tips on how to make this look decent. Ive seen a couple trucks where it doesnt look half bad. :D

a good base coat of green, lots of tape and paper to mark the areas of different colors. Also, if you want to do a good job, look up "home paint job". I started a thread on that a couple weeks ago that has really good advice.

Someone here had an awesome link to a camo website. Maybe somebody has the addy in thier favorites?

I'll see if I can find the link..........hold on.

Well, you can go a few different ways.

I masked and taped my pickup when I did it ... the lines from one color to the next are very distinct. I actually like it, but everybody says it looks funny.

When I did my trail rig, I just rattlecanned it, and fuzzed the edges pretty bad.

When I did my CUCV, I used an actual air gun and sprayed it, paying more attention to the edges and feathering them and adjusting the gun.

Depends on how much time you wanna take, I think, more than anything else. The taping and making on the pickup was a bear, but it's a crewcab and that roof was a killer :haha:

Look in the "before and after" thread for pix of the three.

when I was in the army, and it was time to go to the desert we painted the trucks tan with a roller. this gives a realy flat finish. If you want your camo job to look military ,roll on the base coat then add the "camo"

I just painted mine camo with rattle can.
