Whats up with this program? The best cams for my combo are all in the good fit area.

I'm looking at a 406 with a set of the AFR 195 heads, a Comp Cams X4262H extreme 4x4 cam, a high flow intake, 750 cfm carb, and large dia. headers.

According to Camquest, I'm looking at 423.6 hp @5000 RPM and 488.2 ft-lbs of torque @ 2500 RPM. Maybe I'm doing something wrong:doah:.

Still its a pretty stout combo for a 5000+ lb truck with 4.10 gears.

pauly,

I actually did thsat with the AFR 195 heads. Its a nice program and very useful. Just curious as to why some of the good fits work out better, especially for a torque motor in a pickup.

First off, 195 heads are fairly large to be making power down low. I'm running the AFR 180 heads on my 355 and making 392 hp @ 4500 rpm and 506 tq @ 2000 rpm using the camquest software. My engine happens to be a hydraulic roller though.
