Can a 10 bolt Gov-Loc be welded?

Can a 10 bolt gov-loc be welded? Has this been attempted by anyone?

I welded one on a beater jeep that I built. It worked fine but it only had a 4 cyl behind it. A small block would prolly mess it up good. I wouldn't advise it behind a V8. Find a 14 bolt and hook it up. 8 Lug rims are pretty cheap
