Can any of you 1989 owners tell me if this steering setup looks stock?

Do you have the part numbers? When I went to advanced online, the parts they showed for my 89 were not what I currently have. I am tempted to go the HD route from ORD and never worry about it again.

I just re-did my whole front end and got the solid, one piece as well. I got mine from Autozone (along with new tie-rod end and adjuster sleeve). All the part numbers were from Moog but MUCH cheaper! Check AdvancedAuto and Autozone. The threads at the end are at least 1"....not the smaller diameter.

I believe that the tie rod having an integral tie rod end on one side, or having two separate tie rod ends is not a year to year thing. If I remember correctly when I got new tie rod ends for my 1988 V10 Suburban, they needed to know the gear ratio. Above the split got one design, below the split got the other design.

That being said. You already have a badly bent OEM one, I have seen lots of them bent as well. Just buy the ORD heavy duty setup. The parts need replaced, just do it once.

so if I drop the coin on the ORD one, with the ORD tie rods...thats all I need? I am going to replace my drag links/rag joint/ball joints/wheel bearings at the same time.

Is the 1.5" a NEED or a Want compared to the 1.25? This is not a rock crawler, but not a mall machine either. My rig sees mold/moderate offroading. (hence the bent tie rod!!!)

Go with the ORD stuff and not worry about it again. With the wheeling you've done you've already bent the tie rod. Heck, I bent mine on a snow bank just driving down the street. So, go with the ORD to prevent it from happening again.

Just to clarify, some parts places offer the long and short TREs with the small adjuster sleeve as a replacement for the long tube adjuster set up. So, it's possible your tie rod assembly was replaced with it's current set up at some point, but it's not stronger.
