Can anyone tell what brand of limited slip this is?

Hello,

When I bought my 89 K5 from the previous owner he knew both differentials had limited slip, but didn't know what brand. Today while changing the gear oil I snapped a couple pics in the hope someone here could tell me by eye balling it.

The axles were originally built for a 78 k5, and the rear is a 12 bolt. I went to the shops website who made them, and it looks like he puts either Auburn or Eaton in 12 bolts.

Thanks for the help!

looks like a reg old eaton or auburn unit. never played with them much my self .

there is early and later from what i have read. got to tear it apart to figure it out via the clutch guts.

def NOT a gov-bom :bow:

i just put a true trac in my 2wd 12 bolt .all gear unit no disks to wear out . and no aditive needed.

My tru trac is on the way :D

Those look like regular Eaton clutch posi's. Was the g80 diff option in cars.

Cool guys, thanks for the replies. I'll assume it's an Eaton.

No additives for a true trac sounds awesome! $13 a pop for the good AC Delco 4 oz bottle!

Be on the lookout for a similar thread of mine when I change the oil in the front Dana 44. :D:D
