Can anyone widen my stock steel wheel?

IIRC it's possible, though it might be easier/cheaper/simpler to get a close facsimile in a wider size. Depends on what you're trying to do.

If you haven't already, check out the build thread of one of our mods, who is certifiably insane. It's a lengthy read, but it's first-gen, like yours, and inamongst all the other crazy is a lot of discussion over custom wheels. His solution is total overkill, like most of his unobtanium-coated custom-machined hand-tigged-by-Bavarian-dwarves work, but you might get some good ideas from the discussion in there.

Look for a set of M1009 CUCV wheels.

This! :thumb:

I had a set of 15x8 ralleys widened to 10s by a local machine shop way back when, they cost me 100.00 a wheel to get done. that was over 20 years ago.

I had the steel wheels on the back of my Manx widened, but I forgot who did it. I'll try to figure it out.

These are the 15"x8" M1009 CUCV wheels, blasted and painted white.

I will likely order something from Stockton wheels after looking at their site.
Dont know prices yet so who knows.
I like their 59 and 98 series wheels.

Just checked, I did have my buggy ones done at Stockton Wheel. I shipped them all 4, had two of them widened then all 4 powdercoated white. They charged me $247, which was a pretty good deal. It was about 4 years ago though.

Just for fun I`ll put this one up...I these are the rally wheels I had widened to 10s way back in 1987. The tires are 35x12.50 BFG MT The Toyota was a 83 sr5

Same wheels on my old 78 short box.

I got a decent quote from Stockton Wheel on 15x10s. It's cheaper for me to buy thier centers than ship mine to them.
