Anyone know the best place to get these canopys? I know 'willy had one when his truck had a bed. 4WPH used to carry them but for some reason don't anymore.......

I looked on google and a vendor of their product came up?
 
I dunno... I heard a K5 top from them is over $1000... so naturally I never tried to find a place to get one. lol! Sof tops are cool, but one that costs as much as a D60 is getting crazy. ;)

Hard canopys are about $1000-$2500, soft tops are about $600 for K5s normally. Guess it just depends on what your willing to spend your hard earned cash on. I really don't need it but I think it would be nice to have a canopy I can remove myself and sleep under and still feel like I'm camping. Plus I hate the way the fiberglass canopys look. :D
 
I guess. You could make a VERY nice bikini top for $100 though. I'd keep the rain off, and not cost $1000+. lol.

I don't think can-back is gonna makum fer us?
I saw the one in Petersens and it looks AWSOME but the artical said the company has no plans to makum. You would think they would?? Hell they have a 'modle top' so I don't see why they wouldn't makum. If you find out different let us know in the first gen fourm OK :D

Ha! Ya Burt I wish I could put a top on the 'ol girl. I just put a cj5 bikini on it and called it good. I'm looking for the new daily driver/tow rig. :thumb:

Yer damn right! One or the other fer sure! Moabs just not the same with out the "big dogs" representin'! :cool1:
 
I looked at their website a couple of weeks ago and they were up for sale. Glad I got mine(2). I can tell you they are well built. Hopefully someone has bought them and they reopen without their prices getting more rediculous.....
 
i placed an order w/ can-back in Dec 04. they charged me (twice, like they said they would; once when i ordered, again when it was ready to be shipped). like i said, that was Dec. at first, my emails and phone calls were answered..."sorry, we're just a little behind." then, no response to emails and no return calls, then, no more website, phone# disconnected...POOF...gone.
i'm disputing the charges w/ my credit card co. but they're giving me a hard time b/c i don't have any documentation about a promised delivery date, plus, it doesn't look like they are gonna be able to find this guy. looks like i got porked.
 
what the heck? is canback gone? or did you order from a dealer?

called canback direct. talked directly to the owner, charlie cornelius, twice; once when i ordered and one of the times i actually got somebody on the phone. he looked up my order, told me they were a little behind and to please be patient. he forgot to tell me to be a sucker but i did that anyway.
 
if you went to them directly, you should be OK. In the end, there are phone records, billed CCs etc. If your CC comp can't get you out, try and call them one more time... tell 'em the next call will be from your lawyer. If that doesnt work, its time for lawyers to battle it out.

that's good advice, but i meant it when i said "POOF." he's gone. website's down, email doesn't work, phone # is disconnected (all of them) w/ no new # listed. i still have faith the cc co. will do the right thing and eat the $1200 loss...better them than me.
 
Well I'm most likely going with the BesTop canopy, looks to be the best alternitave. I can get the Can-Back but the company says it will take about 4 months as they are currently re tooling.
 
can you please tell me who you talked to that said they were re-tooling, i just need to get somebody on the phone so i can get my money back. i've tried every # i can find, either no answer or disconnected.
