Can I air down on an 8" rim and 12.5" tire??

Can I air down on an 8\" rim and 12.5\" tire??

My friend said that he would not air down my tires with my setup do to the chance of losing a /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gifseal. If I can air down what would be the lowest possible without any trouble

I go gown to 15 PSI on my 12.50 33" 15" On 8" rims with no problems. I have ran a little lower PSI on snow only.

Yes you can air down. It is safer to air down your 8" rims then a 10" rim. There is more sidewall pressure keeping the tire on the 8" rim then a 10".

Narrower rims are a poor mans beadlocks.

As long as your rims arent 16.5" diameter (they have a different bead design and dont hold well at low pressure).....like Harley said the 8" rim actually holds a bead on a 12.5" wide tire very well /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I concur with everyone else, AIR EM DOWN. I run stock ralleys and have run white spokes, both 15x8. I take em down to 20 most of the time, could go lower but it works well as is. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

i ran my 8in wide rims and 12.5in tires down to 8 psi in the sand and 12 on the trail and never blew a bead /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I run 8" wheels on 37-1250's and no problems yet at 10psi or so. I have reverse wheels which are the real poor mans beadlock.

I run the stock rallies(7"?) with 10.50s and I go down to 12 PSI...

i run the 8" wheel and with my 36/12.50s i would air down to 8ish regularly....went to 6 in the snow and popped a bead winching myself sideways....
