I am going to try to do a disc brake conv. on my 14blt ff. I am using Blackwidow Performance kit. I know this has been covered a million times can somebody help me out and give a link or something to a good detailed install description of a disc conv. on a 14blt? I have found a couple links but I want as much detail as I can get. I have never done anything this hard before, nothing that envolves removing axles and so forth, and I am very nervous to do it. THANKS

I don't have any links for you but know this its really easy to do. not difficult at all. Besides if you get into it just post a pic on here and you know the help will come rolling in:D

I read through Manny's when he did it, and if you have Black Widow their customer service is awesome and they will help you with anything that comes up. Plus there are so many on here who will step up and help.

Make it the right time and day, and I'll drive up and help. It's only 1.5 hours. I don't know anything either, but we can figure it out and i'll have learned when it's my turn.

Wow, that is a nice gesture:bow:

Thanks for the offer but my sub is sitting in a nice big barn in Dover, Ohio at my father in laws. I live in an apartment here in WEST - BY - GOD and have no family near here so he is letting me keep it up there and work on it till I get my own place or get it back on the road, which ever comes first. It is about 2 hours and 45 minutes away. So I go up about 3 weekends a month, so I love the new gass prices. But when I do get it down here I will for sure be looking for people to go wheelin' with !!!!!! And it would be nice to have help when I work on my sub. I have guted the inside, pulled the eng.\tranny, put a new front end in, lifted the front 3", and I am about half way done installing a DIY flip kit in the rear and I have done it all completely by myself. Did I mention what a pain in the ass it was to move around the 14blt a bought, I would lift an end at a time and baby step it about 6" at a time. And I think I destroyed something in my abdomen when I put it up on jack stands. But it's going to be sssooooo worth it in the end. SWEETNESS

Something else. Can I run braided ss line from the hard line end all the way to the new disc brakes? So I will have the new lengthened line that came in the kit (Procomp Extended Brake Line Kit) with the 2 for the the front and then from where it splits on top of the pumpkin to the brakes. Will that work or should I run the hard line along the axle?

I would suggest hardline from the splitter. Less chance of getting snagged.

As far as the conversion goes, how confident are you? I would suggest getting someone to help that has brake bleeding experience. That is a safety issue that you dont want to get wrong.

If you feel you can do it, you can do it. My son did his with no prior knowledge. He had a few questions during, but that will happen with any job you are doing for the first time.

Shane at BWP is an awesome guy to deal with.

No worries. If things change let me know. Good luck. Maybe wheeling is in the future someday, right now, I'm looking to make mine tough for no reason. Just for ****s and giggles....
