I’ve posted about this before but I’m really itching to start looking for parts. Can I get a write up or from somebody along with difficulty level and issues that you came across? What was the hardest part, and how did the electrical work out with computers and stuff?

What are you planning?

were is your other post ?

what is the rig / year / current engine / trans . . . . .

your in cali i see hope you got a game plan for the smog board for inspection .

I have a worn out 350 in my 86 burn. I have a L31 crate engine with Vortec heads with a carb that's going in soon along with a NV4500 swap to replace the p.o.s. 700r4.

Really nothing to it, label your wires and hardware. Being in kommiefornia you have your smog issues to deal with, so check all the laws there before you start spending $$$.

here is your other thread with lots of good info . we also asked you questions and got no answers to help you yet .

My bad. Out of sight out of mind and gone. I want to put a vortec in place of my 5.7 in my 84 with a 700r4. Where I live I have one time smog upon transfers. Besides I would think if it’s a newer engine it would please the California gods

So you're in one of those counties, you can do what you want as long as you own it.
But yeah replacing an 84 with a vortec is the best thing you can do.
84 and 85 where the worst with the computer controlled carb and electronic spark control.
It shouldn't be too hard, most of the harness is contained with the ecm and only a handful of wires have to be spliced and a vortec should be a bolt in so mechanically it should be easy too.
I am in Lincoln so you are probably a couple of hours north of me and if you need help I can help
