Hey lads. We have a little problem and we all need to to do our part to fix it.

It has come to my attention that some of you have been taking advantage of the "openness" of the Garage lately by using threads discussing certain parts as invitations to sell, trade or buy said parts.

FOR THE RECORD: Offering to sell or purchase parts in the Garage is not allowed. We have made this clear time and time again, yet some members refuse to use the appropriate forums to conduct their business.

If this trend continues, I will start giving away free 3-day vacations to those who refuse to follow the rules.

Thanks for your cooperation.

I've got a banstick for sale, PM for shipping quote!

ok.. bad joke, but someone had to do it, hopefully it doesn't get me booted =)

Sorry

Sorry bout that. I only had questions about deleting my a/c. Not selling it

To The Top...

The problem with Sticky's is people skip right on by them without reading them.

ooo ooo oooooo I can vouch for the 3 day vacations...I took one of those a long while back...it wasn't as fun as I was expecting ;)

but yeah stickys don't do anything, honestly who stops to read those things after you've been here for a year or so...

Wow! A vacation! Where do I get to go if I get selected? :saweet:

Sorry - I couldn't resist. :haha:

I goofed the other day and got reprimanded for it - I saw a freebie post and responded to it. I didn't realize I wasn't in the for sale section . . . :o

People have gotten used to openly making offers in the Garage, that trend needs to be reversed. The goal is to keep the Garage focused on Tech. Now that being said you can still trade with each other, as long as it isn't visible. That means sticking to PM's, e-mail, instant messaging, whatever method that keeps it out of the thread.

Topper.

i've seen several threads where someone asks a question (example: opinions on lockrite) and, AFTER giving advice, someone might mention they have one for sale in the classifieds/ebay/craigslist/etc. and might even post the link. that doesn't bother me any, and can actually be helpful, IMO. Do those guys get a "vacation" too?

One problem I've noticed is if the person in need is not a member. Lets say I had something they might need. Well I cant pm them or e-mail them cause they are not a paying member, what do i do now?

You should be able to email them, isn't that on their screen in the personal settings:dunno: . I thought it was.

Not everyone has it set to allow for e-mails. For example I just tried to e-mail vortec and it wouldnt allow me

ha. don't take it personally. i get enough spam so maybe i originally set it that way to avoid that. i think i'll change it. heck, i'll probably pay up before too long. i need a cool emblem by my name. :D
