deciding on lift for my 85 chevy lwb truck. i am planning on running 42x14x15 swamper iroks. i want to bob-narrow the front end so no tire clearance problems. rear wont have a bed so no trouble there. what lift is required to clear firewall with a tire that size? or possibly a 44" tire? i know more lift means more driveline angle issues. i have a set of tc 6" rear springs, but do i need that much lift? the truck is a 1/2 ton so i could swap the 52's from rear to front but how much lift will that give? truck currently has a tc 3" lift with rear blocks. i will be running a d60 with crossover which i have heard needs 4" lift is that true? thanks

You can make it fit. Here's 44's on 52" factory springs which is between 4 and 5" lift. Lot of trimming, maybe more to come yet, axle slid forward, maybe needs more, narrowed and so on. Question is can you get everything else to work yet if you make all the mods necessary to fit them. Steering and things like that, hood opening...

Swap the 52's up front. This will net you around 4" lift and move the front axle forward 2". Shackle flip the rear but use a 56" or 63" rear spring so you get more flex out of it.

The easier one would be a shackle flip with a 56" stock spring in back. should give you the 4" lift to match the front and it should flex ok. If you want the killer flex try and get the 63" springs in with a shackle flip. I know a guy here in AZ has 63" spring on the back of his F250 Crawler and it is supposed to flex like a demon.
