well, in the rear, something fishy is goin on. it's so high on the pass. side that it's kickin the drivers front down. so we looked at the springs and on the pass. rear there is about an inch more gap between the overload and the next spring up than there is on the drivers rear. can i remove a spring out of that side to fix this???? im installing shims this week to fix my wobble and wanna do it when it's all apart. would i be better adding an AAL to the other side???? it's pretty bad. BTW, these springs have 10leafs in them and are out of a 1ton pickup truck. they're 56in long and the rear shackle hanger has been drilled back 4inches to accomidate this. the previous owner installed these springs/drilled new holes for the shackle hanger. if not, where can i buy new 56in springs??? I have a shackle flip(4.5in) and 1in raised spring perches, and i need 7-8inches total of lift....

thanks guys

only removing a leaf from one side will give you funny characteristics. the spring might sag faster then the other. I would recomend a set of new springs. ORD sells 4" lifted 56's. there are probably others but I'm lazy and have not searched. :D

let me ask this then. does adding 56in springs to my stock truck add any lift???? so would those 4in lift springs add more than 4inches on my 1/2 ton truck???? thanks alot man.

The front springs on my truck did that a little, then i swapped them for 52"s and it does the same thing :dunno:. It's only a little so I dont really care. But I wouldnt remove a leaf in your case. But now that I think of it my buddys k5 has a different number of leafs in the front on either side for his lift springs, and I'm pretty sure he didnt change them around :dunno:

Run a string from eye to eye and measure from the string down to the top of the leaf pack. Do this on both sides and find out what the difference is then call the leaf spring manufacturer and they can tell you if the spring(s) are bad. If they are under any type of warranty and you suuply them with this info you will get a replacement spring on which ever one is bad. I've done this with my superlift springs once already.
