I got a new 350 HO crate motor with the vortec heads. I was thinking, would it be possible to convert my quadrajet over to the newer fuel injection off the 96-99 5.7? If I found a complete motor and swapped over the knock sensor, bought a new timing cover with the crank sensor and so on? I would love to have FI but the aftermarket kits are soo expensive. I am pretty sure the only difference between my engine and the stock engine is the cam shaft.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

yes it can be done, if u have the money, the cam shouldnt bother those motors because the have a maf, if i am wrong someone will tune in.

be careful of the LSA. yes its a MAFs type FI but it has to draw vacuum for the MAFs to be able to read. Comp makes some new XFI cams specifically for fuel injection. Im not sure but I believe they are flat tappet cams but they might have hyd. rollers avalible.

You'd have to think long and hard about using the Vortec injection vs. TBI or even TPI. OBDII is a fair bit more complicated than either of those setups, AND the Vortec injection system really isn't that great IMO, due to the problems with the fuel delivery setup on them.

Yes you can do it but personally I wouldnt. If you ever plan on building that motor you will be limited by the injection. That CPI is only good for ~400hp on a good day.
