Can I use these in a drill?

Typically a drill won't spin fast eneugh to effectively cut the steel. The disk will just wear down. If your getting the disks from HF, pick up one of their 4" grinders while your there. Thier inexpensive and hold up well.

OK , Checkers down the street has a angle grinder on sale for $10 .
Looks almost like the HF one.As much as I will use it , it should last forever.
Thanks guys

do not get the one from checkers its a P.O.S., I picked one up one Sunday afternoon because I was too lazy to drive a little more and needless to say
I needed a new grinder that same afternoon

I warrantied out 6 or so of the checker grinders in a weekend. Let the smoke out of every one of them. I have a pristine one in the box, for the next time I need a one-use tool, or if someone ever asked to borrow my grinder =)

$10 for a grinder? :eek1: I wouldn't even consider it. If you don't use one often, go to home depot/lowes/true value/sears or wherever, and get the cheapest dewalt/makita/milwaukee/black&decker/craftsman etc. on the shelf. The extra money spent is worth it when you can use your grinder more than once before having to replace it.

I bought a HF 4.5" grinder for ~$20 and have been using it for the last 4 years. It also has the original brushes in it:D.

Now that I have said that it will die the next time I use it:doah:

I'll vouch for the HF one as well. it sliced right through the bottom lip on my 14b. BTW, we need an angle grinder emoticon.

You mean :grind: ?

I have the not-so-cheap HF one -- four of them in fact -- and they only blow up one ever year or so.

Ive had really good luck with Makitas, so has everyone i know. Also ive heard good things aboutn dewalt.

Ive used sevral different types of angle grinder I like the one with a paddle swith were you hold it instead of the button.

Ive got a Makita as well that works awesome. Wish I would have gotten a 4.5" instead of 4" though.
