Just thought I'd start a post also.... :D

This forum is so slow-moving there's almost no excuse....

:usaflag:

:dunno: Truck bed sides have different curvatures along the center. Also takes alot of body work. I thought about the same thing and turned out to be much more than any body man wanted to do, even as an insurance claim pay out. Thats like all the money you want to do the work but, no one wanted anything to do with it.

the first message implied using the short bed skins, I was wondering if I could use the whole shorth bed assembly or if i'm better off using the patch panels....

sorry if I offended anyone......

I don't know about using the entire bedside, but I did use a portion about 1 foot wide by 2 feet tall on mine when I got rid of the stock fuel filler area. Curvature seemed fine on that!

You didn't.

I'm not aware of there being any differences and was just hoping you could clarify.

I found 2 piece rear replacment panels at Sherman Parts. From reading they appear to replace the entire rear quarter for the blazers (at least from the dimensions they are showing) in lieu of patching the rear quarter, and they're cheaper than getting the short box bed. As I mentioned in my previous thread, the rear sections on my 72 are in real rough shape and I'm trying to replace as much as the metal as possible.

Has anyone used these and if so did they work good?

Also is it worth replacing the rocker boxes?

Thanks in advance for any help. This is the first project truck I've done so I'm stumbling through and may ask alot of repetitive questions.

do a search on 67-72, a guy on there just shortened the front and put it on looked perfect.
