I was given a 205 transfer case and was wondering...
I want to do a SFA swap eventually, can I add the transfer case now and run it? It even came with the cross member. Also, where can I put the shifter so it won't mess up my fride console between the seats?

it will be a lot of work to run it now.

you will need the right adapter to your trany, shafts will be the same, but the speedo out put will be for a cable and your truck will be a wire.

on a 205 the shifter comes right up from the from of the case, so eather move the console back or you will have to cut and fap a new shifter.

seen a pic in the gallery of some ones devorced 205's shifter.

dont know who

2wd trans will have to go. I'm not sure but think you have a 4l80E so thats a pain to lose and replace. Call Advanced Adapters and see if they have a setup to mate a 205 to a 2WD 4l80E. Speedo setup may be a pain and you NEED it with an electronic trans.

I doubt I will ever need a speedo if I am offroad in lowrange, never did in my old 79 rig. SInce the speedo is run off the outpput sensor, having the case in low will just skew the #'s when its in low right?
Next question then would be, is there a better case for this setup?

Maybe look into a NP 241....I am not sure if you just swap the outputshafts and get the adapter or not. The 241 will have a lower low range too.

Or, just
divorce mount that 205....
