I was wondering if someone can explain to me the difference in my my 4x4 shift options. I have a full time 203 with Low loc, low, neutral, high, and high lock. What is the dofference between them? A little help for a rookie!
The 203 FT acts like a differential in the open position (lo or hi). Power can shift to your front or rear axle, similar to your rear axle's differential ability to shift power to either wheel.
When you put the xfer case in lock (hi lock or low lcok) the transfer case acts like a locker. Both driveshafts are locked. This is true 4WD. (front axle and rear axle both have power all the time)
You can buy PT kits and put locking hubs in pretty cheap.
