My 87 blazer has a 4 inch lift. In the rear they used blocks to get the additional lift. Can I just purchase larger rear springs to replace the blocks? Or do you have to buy an entire kit in order to get the rear springs?

You can buy just rear leaves or a shackle flip.
Where I haven't been able to find any on the net? All I have been able to locate is complete kits. What's a shackle flip and how is it done?

Consider me an American made car newb. This is my first american made car ever owned. I drive a Range Rover and an Acura NSX as daily drivers. I can do most mechanical work by myself just need a quick how to.

A shackle flip uses the stock rear springs, just replaces the stock shackle. It will give you 4" lift in the rear. Used for better articulation.

Another option would be to have a local spring shop make you a set of rear springs and re-arch them accordingly.

Having said that you can also call "the usual suspects" as far as lift kit manufacturers and see what they would do for you.

Shipping might be the killer though cost-wise.

i would think you could. i had to buy just one front skyjacker 6inch lift spring for my k5 after i broke a few of the leafs. cost like 200 bucks and this was about 6 years ago

any chance in posting that photo on a free image hosting site? I can't see the image without paying a fee.

I'll say it nicely first - The $25.00 will pay for itself very quickly, and then cost you thousands of $$$ because you quickly realize what can be done. EDIT: I paid for my initial membership because I needed to see the pics. I've been a member since.

I would recommend you get the membership, if nothing else, so you save your money and do this project the right way, the first time.

There are hundreds of pics of shackle flips and instructions how to do it.

One more thing - welcome aboard.
