I found a deal on some of the factory chevy 2500 hd wheels with the caps and lug nuts for 250.00 and was wondering if the metric lug nuts will work on my 86 k30 with the 9/16" studs, or if you can buy new lug nuts to fit the 9/16" studs and still use the center caps and just cut a hole for the lock outs? Or can i just force the lug nuts on if they are that close, I heard they are really close and you can do that? But i dont want to be going down the road losing wheels and tires I would rather spend the money and be safe if its not possible.

deeper backspacing on hd wheels.

will fit truck yes.

what ever makes you think american thread will fit metric threads ? :doah:

and thay do have conversion lug nuts for this in 9/16 threads and external for the cap nut's.

The wheels will fit fine, the lugs will not. You and NOT force them.

You need proper 9/16" lug nuts. If you want to use the factory caps, you need the external thread conversion style, made JUST for this purpose. If you don't care about caps, just run whatever angled seat lug you want.

I would take any further advice form the person you heard that from with a grain of salt.

Do you guys know what company carries the 9/16" lugs with the external metric threads? I didnt think it was a good idea to use the metric lug nuts. When i did a search i saw where someone else said they ran a tap through them and they worked. I couldnt find many threads on using the newer wheels so i figured i would ask and im glad i did! I would think running a tap in them would just weaken the metal more. So its off to find the 9/16" convertion lug nuts.

I have a set on my '89 V3500 D60 right now, got the conversion lug nuts and used the center caps with the fronts cut out.
