Can you run w/o your front drive shaft?

I need to get some front drive shaft work done and was wondering if you take it out, will it still drive ok...

Oh yeah, its no problem. I had mine out for some time since the slip yoke was worn. It dont hurt anything when its off.
 
The only problem you might run into is fluid loss.

Running without the shaft won't cause any problems, but if the fluid leaks out, that will.

Next time give more detail and this will be easier. Your profile says you have a 79, which means it should have an NP203. If that has been converted to part time then drop the shaft and drive it like normal. If it is still full time you will need to be in HI LOC or all power will go to the yoke missing the shaft.
