cant believe it

I had something like that happen on my friends '79 truck (350). He started the truck up and reved it up twice and bang clack, clack, clack DEAD. He tryed to start it and every time he turned the engine over we heard clack clack clack. Well I was getting the engine ready to be pulled and I started to take the pass side header off and found BIG chunks of metal in the exhast So I traced it to number 4 exhaust valve. Took the cover off and a valve spring blew up and sent the valve into the pistion. blew that up, bent the rod and blew his cam up into little chunks.
I didn't feal like taking his crank out and looking at it. To lazy.

Try the simple things first. 6.2's as far as my limited knowlefge goes... doesnt break immediately at startup usually. Sometimes the injectors dont fire right, try giving it a little pedal, see if it smooths it out.
