hey there! ihave a 75 k5 thats in real ruff condition im pretty much having to replace everything.....on a budget & with very little experiance .
i recently replaced my front & rear end but the rear end doesnt have a breather hose valve & i cant seem to find the right size vALVE ANY WHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS ???????????????:dunno:

Several, mostly involving your violations of the Font Police Act of 2003. ;)

I assume you mean the little plastic gizmos that go on the end of the vent hoses? They're not easily available new, that I know of, so you have a few options. The cheap and simple solution is raid the Pick-N-Pull and get a pocketful of the factory plastic ones for your $2 entry. Clean them up with some brake cleaner and a soft brush and you're golden.

If you wanted to go fancy, the ricer crowd uses all kinds of weird foam filter intake things; find what you like at O'Reilly's or whatever Kragen is called this week, Ebay, Pep Girls, whatever. Matching the hose size is just a matter of plumbing with rubber or plastic hose of your choice from the auto parts house, Orchard Supply, or TAP Plastic.

Did I mention Pick-N-Pull being simple? :D That's what I did for my perpetually-in-progress rig.

Hey thanx for the reply but...

Naw... I'm actually referring to the little nipple that comes off the rear end that the hose connects to... I can't find anything that fits to replace it.....

I have never done this but I am sure you can drill and tap it for 1/4 npt and put a threaded hose barb in it

Ah. It's not a valve, just a brass plumbing fitting.

OTOH, I don't know what thread it is off the top of my head; think it's too small for 1/4" NPT, so might be 1/8" NPT, then hose barb on the other end.

Gonefishin, the pain there is you gotta open the diff and drain it, then stick a rag or something in there so as to catch all the metal bits. I drilled my front end for the ARB hose fitting, and while doable, it was less fun than I could have had that afternoon =))

Yea ..... I was trying to avoid the drilling thing........ Didn't want to risk shavings in the gears if I didn't have to... Thanx

I'm thinking that some JB Weld might hold a hose barb on there, if you can find one whose other end fits into the hold in the pumpkin.

Thanx guys... I just tried the j b weld scenario I got some brass fittings from lol "home depot" cuzz no autoparts store had anything remotely close to the size... The threads were a little smaller but it had the hooks to connect to the 5/16 hose... I just cleaned it up real good mixed up some jb weld ... & I'll post the results tomorrow after it had time to dry ....
