Cant find the brown wire under dash to time truck

I have been looking everywhere and cant find the brown/black wire anywhere, im trying to time my truck and cant get it anywhere close, either it backfires under load or it has 10 horsepower... i was going to start a cage soon so i was gonna pull the dash board apart anyways, guess ill start now

I know on the 89 I had it was at the firewall, either by the Junction Block or near the vacuum line to the brake booster. Just a single wire with a connector, brown and black.

doh, yes I meant the engine side of the firewall

where is the wire supposed to run to and from?

dont worry about where its gonna run to and from you will be chasing dreams trying to find that. all you need to know is that its near the brake booster and the junction box. it is as they said a brown and black striped wire with a single weather pac terminal connecting it.

i never have luck timing with light. i time the old fashioned way. still works for me
