Well I can if the key is in the on position. If I put it in run or start the engine, I can't get it to go into gear. Doing some research it seems there is something that locks the shifter from the brake switch. I just did an LS swap and rewired the truck with an EZ Wiring Harness. Since I am not much of a mechanic, I would assume that I messed up something in the wiring. On the brake switch there are four terminals, I am using 2 of them one for the ls cpu (2 purple wires) with a white wire that goes to the ez harness I think the other terminal is the power from the harness.

Are the back two (closer to the drivers seat) the ones that control this lock?

If not, where should I start?

What year is the truck? What transmission? Is the issue that it will not come out of park?

86 Blazer.

The transmission is the 4L60E but it shifts fine. When I disconnect the linkage at the column, it still won't shift out of park in the run position. If I put the key in the on position it will shift on the column.

But the transmission will shift with the linkage disconnected?

If so, the shifter cone is not lining up with the lockout shaft. Either the lockout shaft or the key cam is broken. Is it a tilt column?

Yes, the transmission will shift with the linkage disconnected.

It is also a tilt column.

These are what are more than likely broken.

I just had to make one as one piece can not be bought.

What and where are these parts? I have no idea what I am looking at.

Inside of the column. Just about has to be completely torn down. Not real difficult, just a lot of little pieces. And these 2 tools are a must.

Rent this one. OTC 7984

Buy lisle brand LIS19940

I'll give it a go. Probably won't be able to tear it apart for another week though. Thanks
