Re: can\'t open hood
For those of you who wonder why chevys have to be hit to open well it's pretty simple. If you look at your latch you will notice slight wear on the moving hook. this wear over time will create a notch which dosen't allow the hook to rotate out of the way. To solve this you either file out the hook smooth again (which takes more time then I'm prepared to give) or replace the latch and wrap the "u" bolt on the hood in a teflon padding thus illiminating the grinding which occurs during normal operation.
I would recomend that you look at a friends truck of similar year and play with different Ideas while his hood is open so that you can perfect the trick to use on your truck. Your probably going to have to create your own slim jim to grab the release. You might want to spray some WD40 underthere just to help it move freely. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
once open you may consider removing the latch all together and going to hood pins. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
