cant switch tanks

I can't seem to switch tanks on my 86 pu. Before it quit working you had to push the switch kind of hard and a couple of times before it would switch, then it quit working. I put a different switch in it and it still doesn't work.

Anyone got any good links or suggestions of where to start with this problem

Sounds like a solenoid or ground issue. Try applying power to the lead on the solenoid and see if you can hear it switch. If not the solenoid is bad. If it works then start testing power going to the solenoid.
