well aside from waiting for my xover steering.. im probably gonna order the holley truck avenger carb and holley intake... plus I have to patch my headers, finish my exhaust, and a few other things then the truck is ready for the road... also have been working so much that there is no time to put into the truck...

but I am tire of the driveway pics and driveway flex...

today after cutting the grass I was curious with the new front 6" leafs how my 60" high lift would do... well tell ya what.. if I had the 48"... it wouldnt work.... only have like 5 clicks left and my tire is BARELY off the ground... I think these skyjacker softride 6" leafs are gonna flex sweet....

driveway flex shots... dont mind the grass clippin bags..

im also most likely gonna do hydraulic assist steering.. so they may not be needed /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
 
ok but if I do hydro assist steering.. basically it bolts to the axle and the steering arm right? so thus all the tension from the frame is removed??? is this correct? Im curious as I would rather go hydro assist over 2 pieces of metal and a few bolts... ord even says on their site that their kit still may not stop the cracking... but if there is no stress on the frame then hydro assist would be better /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hydro assist welds to the axle and bolts to the tie rod.

It is called hydro assist for a reason. It does not eliminate all the stress from your frame. It only HELPS.

As long as the wheels are still mecanically connected to your steering wheel, you'll risk cracking the frame. Full hydro is the only solution for this, or, to properly repair any cracks, weld in the patch, and bolt on the brace. The majority of us can get by with that. I'm going to be doing some further reinforcement.

John at www.autofab.com suggests knocking the rivets out of that crossmember one by one and replacing them with grade 8s as well. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
