Anyone have any pics of how you installed your caps? I mean physically, not the wiring. My Rockford Fosgate 1/2 farad cap came with no brackets or any mounting illustrations. I was thinking of sticking it with silicone sealer on top of one of my speaker boxes. That way I can remove it if I need to. Is this a good idea?

Thanks.

you could try that or if you wanted to go to the parts store and spend a little bit you can get a large hose clamp and use it to secure it in place... if you get one large clamp you can screw that to your box and then add the cap.. just loosen the screw and you can take it out.. easier then having to resiliconing it back down every time

If it aint loud then turn it up!

Whever I didn't have the brackets I would use a screw down zip tie mount: one for the top of the cap and one for the bottom. Screw them down to the box and then run some long zip ties through them and strap the cap down. I don't know if I would trust the strength of silicone...its going to be a bumpy ride and it might fall off. And the hose clamp might scratch the finish of the cap whereas the zip ties are plastic so they wouldn't scratch it.

Chevy good...Ford bad

Here are a couple of pics of my amp/cap set up. I put a couple pieces of plywood in the liner of the rear seat under the fabric on the back and screwed the amp and cap (w/ brackets) right in.
