I have an 86 k10 4x4. the gvwr on the door says 6,600 lbs. My vin inicates the 6,100 brakes?...........the transmission is a 3 spd with granny low. would it be feasible to pull say 2,300 lbs in the bed? supposedly the truck has the heavy duty front suspension, according to the glove box anyway.

im traveling say 20 miles or so. Oh and i just put 4 new shocks in. nothing fancy, (gas magnums) its a stock truck.

what do you guys think?

It is technically overloading it by a bit (your truck is likely rated to have 1500 lbs. in the bed) but for only 20 miles I'm sure it will be fine.
