I have a 1983 K5 Blazer that needs an engine. I have a deal on a 350 out of a 91 Caprice. Runs good etc. What would i need to do to it to make it fit my truck. Im guessing an intake manifold being im carbed and its TBI. Will a normal SBC Manifold fit on this engine? What about Mech Fuel pump? Engine Mounts? etc etc. Thansk for the help.

Why not get all the stuff to make it TBI in your truck, it's worth it.
Anyway you can use your intake if you redrill the bolt holes at a different angle to use your carb. Everything else will work fine from your engine.

I already dumped the other engine. I saved everything but the manifold bc it was for an engine with centerbolt heads. Im stupid. When buy the manifold, what year Chevy do i ask for? Also, when i think the fuel pump rod is to thick. It had an electric pump, so there was a plate covering the mechanical area. When i tried to mount the fuel pump, the pushrod was too thick. What kind of pushrod would i ask for at the parts store? Thanks again..

To get a manifold that works for a carb and not having to redril, you have to go to the aftermarket like Edelbrock.
For the rod on the fuel pump I think they are all the same, but then again I could be wrong.

'91 Caprice(?) Isn't that an LT1?
No, LT1s didn't come around until 92 in Corvettes and 94 in Caprices.

Only real advantage to the 91 Caprice motor is that it is a Roller Cam motor.

LT1 would be a much different swap. if you wanted carb it would be more expensive to swap, and if you wanted EFI, it would be much more complex than just a swap in and go. But like I said, 91 Caprice, is still just a Gen I smallblock.

My mistake. Got a little excited there.:haha:

I think you are going to have to run an electric fuel pump. Although the hole for the fuel pump push rod is there, I don't think they machined it to size.

i didnt know they offered 350's in those.. i have a 91 and its a 305. its pretty peppy but it is in a car. you sure its a 350?....

They did offer the 350's, I think they were the SS.
At least I know the SS came with the 350, and some police interceptors as well.

I sure hope its a 350 I just bought it and have a slew of 35o parts ready to go for it. If its a 305 I guess it will get the heve ho and Ill find a good 350 to rebuild. or maybe a build a 383 MMmmm horse power...
